Seriesly Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: September 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Seriesly mobile application, serieslybooks.com website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Seriesly Books LLC ("Seriesly," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, joining our waitlist, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Seriesly is a book-tracking and discovery platform that allows users to track reading across formats (ebook, audiobook, and physical), manage a to-be-read (TBR) list, view a release calendar, discover new titles, and, where enabled, connect with other readers. Some features described in our marketing materials, including the waitlist landing page, may not yet be available and are subject to change before and after launch.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between the age of 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. Accounts
When account registration becomes available, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Post or share content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
- Upload viruses or other malicious code.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
We reserve the right to remove content and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Where the Service makes User Content visible to other users, you can report content you consider objectionable and block a user whose behaviour is abusive. We review reports and remove the content, the user who provided it, or both, within 24 hours of the report.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (e.g., reviews, ratings, shareable cards, and TBR lists) ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Seriesly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service, such as displaying shareable cards or aggregated review data. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license.
7. Social & Sharing Features
If you use friend, TBR-sharing, or gifting features, you understand that information you choose to share, such as your TBR or reading activity, may be visible to other users you connect with, subject to your privacy settings. You are responsible for managing your own sharing preferences.
8. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Purchases
The Service may contain affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates Program. Where Seriesly participates in that program as an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through those links, and we disclose that participation where the links appear. Purchases made through third-party retailers are subject to that retailer's own terms, pricing, and policies. Seriesly is not a party to, and is not responsible for, transactions between you and any third-party retailer.
9. Third-Party Services & Content
The Service may incorporate or link to third-party data sources, such as Open Library, and to third-party platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the accuracy, availability, or practices of these third parties.
10. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
Seriesly offers optional paid subscriptions and may offer one-time purchases, such as cosmetic badges or premium features. Tracking physical books is free and remains so.
All purchases are processed by the app store you installed Seriesly from — Apple’s App Store or Google Play — and not by Seriesly. We never receive or hold your payment details.
Where a subscription is offered on an auto-renewing basis, the following terms apply:
- The title of the subscription, the length of each subscription period, the price for that period, and the features it includes are shown in the app before you purchase and on the store listing.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Turning off auto-renewal does not cancel the period you have already paid for, which runs to its end.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of that trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. Seriesly cannot issue a refund on their behalf, but will help you find the right route.
- If a subscription lapses, books you imported under it are hidden rather than deleted, and reappear if you subscribe again.
Prices may change. We will tell you before a change takes effect, and where the app store requires your agreement for the subscription to continue at the new price, it will not renew without it.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, text, graphics, and software (excluding User Content and third-party content), is owned by Seriesly Books LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT BOOK AVAILABILITY, PRICING, OR RELEASE-DATE INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE, AS SUCH INFORMATION MAY BE SUPPLIED BY THIRD PARTIES.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SERIESLY BOOKS LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seriesly Books LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may request deletion of your account from within the app, at Profile and then Delete my account, or by contacting us.
16. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
Please read this section carefully, as it affects your legal rights.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding, individual arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. YOU AND SERIESLY EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing help@serieslybooks.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except as preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms with a revised "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
19. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the store-specific terms in Section 20, constitute the entire agreement between you and Seriesly regarding the Service.
20. Apple App Store — Additional Terms
These additional terms apply when you obtain Seriesly from the Apple App Store, and are required by Apple as a condition of distribution.
- These Terms are between you and Seriesly Books LLC only, and not with Apple. Seriesly, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Service and its content.
- Your licence to use Seriesly is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Seriesly.
- If Seriesly fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the application to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Seriesly.
- Seriesly, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or any third party relating to Seriesly or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that Seriesly fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy law.
- In the event of any third-party claim that Seriesly or your use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Seriesly, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Service.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms Apple will have the right, and will be deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Any questions, complaints, or claims about Seriesly should be directed to Seriesly Books LLC at help@serieslybooks.com.
